Considering the Setting of The Watsons

The weather in Flint, Michigan plays a big role, most noticeably in Chapter 1.

Look at the following website from weather.com:

How different is Flint than New York in terms of average temperature?

Could the events of chapter one happen in New York? Why or why not?

The difference between Flint,Michigan and New York weatherwise, is that in Flint you could actually get your lips frozen on glass! In New York it is never that cold and because there are so many cigarettes around they would propably melt the ice in a few minutes!

New York weather tends to be about 10 - 20 degrees warmer than Flint Michigan. The events of chapter one could not happen in New York because NY is much warmer and we wouldn't be able to get our tongues and lips frozen to the mirrors of our cars.

I don't think they're different because we get heavy snow and very cold days. I think the picture is over reacting a bit.

the difference between Flint and New York is that New York is hardly ever below 20 degrees and in michigan it goes all the way down to 13 degrees.
